Today Is A Good Day What will you do different today? Today is a good day to set the tone for the rest of your week, your month and your year. Start the week off right by doing a little audit (don't be obsessive or dismissive any little bit makes a difference):
  1. Clean off your desk (organize things that require follow up).
  2. Shred the junk (clean out snail mail, email and notification boxes).
  3. Check your social media connections and links on your website.
  4. Respond to messages and post (flag messages that require follow up).
  5. Say thanks to top engagers, partners, employees, new clients, etc.
Many people don't like Monday's because of the workload and drudgery ahead for the week; and/or because everyone's in a bad mood because they didn't end last week ...

#LivingSugarFree #BrandManagement #Reputation image The reason I'm good at what I do, is that I do what I'm good at. That's called staying in your lane and owning it. You can be you, and the best at it. But you can not be me.

When you try to be like other people, for the sake of popularity and/or selling, that's when you skrew up. Words, patents, and copyrights are tough. Basically a way to get money by the government and products to push by corporations. If consumers didn't fall for hype, branding wouldn't be so important. The corner small business is a wonderful concept and works perfectly well in any scale and size... But because of the bad business person who takes short cuts and/or  knows how to trick consumers, quality brands need to...

Marketing Guru's this post is not for you, unless you suck. #LivingSugarFree #LeaveAMessage I've heard one too many decent marketing ideas being called scams because they're new and inventive; posts on Facebook being treated like spam because they're too good; and last but certainly not least the overused autoresponder which makes everything look like a scam. Now let's be clear, of the three things mentioned in the title, only one is illegal and harmful to consumers. The other two are just annoying and harmful to suckers looking to get rich quick or thinking they can get something for nothing. Many great opportunities are promoted through spammy techniques and many honest folks are using autoresponders. Listen and listen good, pop up ad...

Maybe you are a technical genius or maybe you just have Cadillac taste and Volkswagen money when it comes to making your technology, Ecommerce and Online dreams come true. So even if you were the coolest kid in school or you flunked computer science, you may have found yourself more in the category of geek than not because of your needs and because of how easy it is not to do it yourself... to a certain extent. You've heard of Klout, Kred and PeerIndex; and if not than you are a little behind; but anyway meet Geekli. It's in private BETA now and if you are reading this blog then all you have to do is let me know you want an invite. I am limiting the invites because many people are complaining about watered down votes an...

Not physically speaking of course but metaphorically. Well if you consider the stress of trying to grow a brand and manage a social media marketing campaign, coupled with the physical effects of stress, maybe it is a literal life saver. Since the drastic change of direction motivated by the take over of Twitter, TweetDeck has become useless to me. To someone who hasn't used it or doesn't have multiple accounts  this may not seem like a big deal. I host several blogs, social media pages, groups, microblogs, and profiles. In spite of those great outlets, I have a life and cannot spend all day online updating, engaging and responding. Within the last year I've expanded my outreach platforms because of modern technology and the ability t...

Social Networking was an industry term long before the Internet was created.

Dictionary.com defines it this way: Social Network Definition

System Defined

Merriam and Webster doesn't define social network at all, instead their search optimization refers you to "system" which helps to understand the term from an organizational  perspective.

Social Media is not a trend or a fad, like skinny jeans, bell bottoms and sagging pants. It is an advance in communications, networking and technology and will continue to evolve. Personally I hate being limited to the phone and love being in two or more places at once.  Don't you?

Although these terms have become interchangeable at times; they are not the same. If you understand Marketing, then you und...

Today on The View Whoopi's Birthday Gadget's unveiled by Dr. Gadget were pretty cool. I'm not easily impressed with holiday technology, so here are the ones that really stood out:
  1. The Beamz
  2. The All In One Wireless Hi-Fi System
  3. Casio Tryx
Go Whoopi, and you too if you were int the audience and got these items for free. If not you can pick up your own. They are all reasonably priced gift ideas too.
Stay tuned for my birthday gadget list on January 4th.

I don't think so. If anything technology has expanded conversations in various areas and aspects.

What part does psychology play in social media planning? What are the other components of a good marketing plan? Can social media play a positive role in mental health? This is the beginning of my curiosity, who knows where it will take us.

Click the link below to review a great article from The Phoenix Focus where the author begins to explore social media in relation to communications, humanities and social psychology.

Imagine, you have a few friends over for dinner. They have a great time and everyone seems to get along well. You find out they don't have anywhere to go so you let them stay. Not only do they seem to be loving your space, they even invite all their friends and family to come and stay. After a couple of years you pay for a larger space to accommodate all the growth of your new house guests. It's a little different then your old space but it will accommodate all the existing guests and the new ones that arrive daily. Because you are responsible for all your friends safety and comfort you make a few changes that will make the whole space flow better for everyone. The minor changes are uncomfortable to the guests; however they ensure you don't...

Are you a thought leader, specialist, or feeder? If you don't read, listen, engage, like and RT then you're just having conversation with yourself. How do you know what folks want if you don't listen, and ask questions?

I'm amazed when I review some "expert" profiles and see no engagement or reciprocation. It won't last. Sites like Klout.com, Google+, EmpireAvenue.com are leveling the playing field. It's no longer just about mailing lists, spam, followers and slick SEO. You must be valuable to your target audience. This requires market research which requires listening before selling.

In the past you may have been bombarded with pop ups or spam mail where hackers try to trick you into thinking you have a virus so they can download spyware, malware and other vicious software to your computer.

I received this message via skype of all places. I don't think Microsoft needs to send me messages through skype, do you?  Read this for a good laugh...if you don't think it's funny maybe I should give you a little more information about why it is so ridiculous.

Don't ever click a link or anything when you see something questionable in your email or other communication portal. Microsoft will contact you through your account or a pop up window from your update application on your computer. If you don't have i...

This was a question posted by my good friend @Chris on Twitter. I couldn't keep it to 140 characters; what a shock.
I really like in order of favs:
@Fring (adding more networks, keeps you connected on the go,)
@Minggl (wish it had an ap, can be glitchy depending on your browser,)
@TweetDeck (getting better all the time, most tweet friendly,)
@Orsiso (really the best concept but can be overwhelming,)
@Twhirl / @Seesmic (getting better with time, jury is still out.)

And of course these are among thousands of websites and applications that help you better manage profiles and friends
on Twitter, Facebook and other popular networks. My favorites are based on their features and ease of use.
You can have all the features in the world ...

I started off in broadcasting as a Broadcast Journalist for the Army. I used to announce events, voiceovers, narration, etc. While I was in the Army I interned at WPGC with Donnie Simpson, Tiger and Adimu. I got out of the military and worked briefly at an am station in Tennessee.

I never thought that a few years and careers later I would come full circle back to broadcasting. I began hosting an online talk show in May 2008 on Blog Talk Radio. BTR is a free platform that offers a number of features for hosts to get up and going quickly with nothing but a computer and a telephone.

As I built my brand I needed to find solutions that were easily customizable, flexible and affordable. As a member of The Internet Broadcaster you learn about all ...
