Sugar Free Coaching
Welcome to Living Sugar Free. It's not a diet, it's a lifestyle.

By: Andréa Raquel | December 05, 2017

You really don't have a choice in the matter, even if you think you do. It's against their policy to manage a brand on a personal profile (specifically you are not allowed to market).

So this isn't really a blog to explain why one is better. But rather to inform of what's coming your way if you haven't done it already and to let you know how. Because the blogs, tips, and even FB help solutions are completely useless. How do I know? Because I read them all. I asked questions. Contacted "influencers" who had written about it, many of whom were to scared to actually do it. I actually went through the process. I waited 30+ days even though it's only supposed to take 14 and did follow up research to make sure I wasn't missing anything. No FB has not yet responded to my questions, nor have any of the influencers.

Here's the link to the how to on Facebook: Convert Your Profile to A Page

And here's what you should do instead:

The explanation must be old. I have yet to find any current information online about converting a personal profile to a page and the information I've found is clearly out of date or simply incorrect. Nothing that I read actually happened the way it was explained.

  1. I was not able to move my followers to my page. I later found a FB employee who explained this is no longer done. Because they do not want to force people to like a page.
  2. There was no 14 days of conversion info to follow. I got nothing.
  3. The second page was created. But it was complete waste of time because the profile is still siting there exactly as before.
  4. I believe it's been well over 30 days, maybe even 60, I've lost count now.

So basically don't bother following their steps.

I knew this already and have been doing it. But I figured I'd try the actual solution provided by the company.

I'm only 10 away from 1k. If you got something out of this please like and share.

Yeah right.

  1. Just tell everyone to go like your new page.
  2. If they don't do it, unfriend them.
  3. Then stop talking on your personal wall and only talk on your page.
  4. You can tag your personal profile from time to time to give a gentle reminder and have your page posts show up on your personal wall. But FYI FB doesn't like this or any work around that helps boost your activity and views without buying ads. So it doesn't always work.
Let's discuss it.
  • Have you been managing our brand on the personal side?
  • Do you have over 4k followers or friends?
  • Have you tried to convert your page?
I'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences. Share in the comments section below or tag me on social media.
